No dig diary, 22nd August 2026
Whilst watering in the polytunnel this evening I discovered that I have a cucumber that appears to identify as a tomato. I also harvested the first of my brown sweet peppers. I love the colour of these.

Another tomato harvest today. I’m trying to get into the habit of picking anything that’s ripe every time I go into the polytunnel so that I don’t end up with overripe tomatoes that drop onto the ground and squidge.

A small harvest from today. Plenty of different tomatoes beginning to ripen, and our first courgette. May the glut commence! 😀 I also spent a little time picking blackberries. I shall pick more in a week or so.
A first “proper” tomato harvest
All from the Garnet vines (they often do stay a little green at the top). Lovely to have with lunch, especially in the warm weather. May there be many more.

I finally picked those three tomatoes for lunch today. Then I found a few more and I couldn’t pass them up 😀 Hopefully it won’t be long before there are plenty more.
