After adding 2mg Doxazosin to my prescription a month ago and then doubling it two weeks ago, my GP’s reaction to my latest week’s worth of blood pressure readings was “Heading in the right direction, let’s double it again.”
For reasons far too boring to go into, my prescriptions are filled by the dispensary at the surgery rather than me having to go to a chemist. On the one hand that’s quite convenient, but on the other it’s a little slow: it can take a week or more to get some products in if they don’t happen to have them in stock. This was the case with the 4mg dose which I have only just picked up. In the meantime, I was told just to take two of the 2mg pills at a time.
The same thing has occurred with the 8mg dose: until they arrive I can take two of the 4mg which, as I’ve been doubling up on the 2mg, I haven’t even opened yet 😀
Anyhow, the reading I forgot to take today was in the evening. The first is rather higher than I expected, but the afternoon one looks as expected.
