First attempt at making sauerkraut

Just white cabbage, a few peppercorns and salt (3% of the weight of the cabbage). I’m intrigued to see how this works out. I’ve never tried sauerkraut before. So far it’s looking ok, but it’s only been a day 😀

Well that’s not supposed to happen

I was measuring ingredients out to go into the breadmaker this evening and all of a sudden this happened. I guess the weld must have weakened somehow. Shame I don’t have the skills to re-weld stainless steel.
