Qualification at last
Almost six months after I started I have finally received my certification as an ASA Swimming Coach. I’d have to admit that it comes with fairly equal amounts of pride and relief. Still, onwards and upwards, eh?
Swimming, 6th July 2017
Slightly different day today. Still in the outdoor pool, but the weather was heavily overcast and the water felt cooler. Very few people were in the pool at all and I had the swimming lane to myself for most of … Continue reading
Swimming, 5th July 2017
Outdoor pool again. I’m starting to get tan lines from my goggle straps, but only on the left side of my head because I don’t breathe enough to my right yet 😀 3km today, mostly just front crawl, but with … Continue reading
Swimming, 4th July 2017
The water in the outdoor pool felt cooler today though it was shown as being the same temperature as the previous two days. Perhaps it was just because the air temperature was higher. Still difficult to build up a rhythm … Continue reading
Swimming, 3rd July 2017
Another swim in the bath today 🙂 It really does feel quite hard work when the water is so warm. Lots of people to avoid in the lane too, so just a simple 3,000m front crawl swim to make life … Continue reading
Swimming, 2nd July 2017
Bit of a change of scene for today, particularly as I don’t normally swim on Sundays at all. Today it rained pretty much all day and I swam in a 30m outdoor pool that felt warmer than being anywhere else. … Continue reading
Swimming, 29th June 2017
Last swim of the month, and of the first half of the year, thanks to spending much of 30th travelling. I’ve been unable to let this 1,500m thing go this week for some reason. No idea why. Perhaps just because … Continue reading
Swimming, 28th June 2017
I wasn’t sure I could do another non-stop 1,500m today as I could feel the tiredness in my arms and shoulders even before I got into the pool. I broke it down though, first aiming to get to 500m, then … Continue reading
Swimming, 27th June 2017
Today was pretty much a re-run of yesterday. I got into the water and just felt as though I should go for another 1,500m front crawl to start with. Again, it got tough towards the end, but I made it … Continue reading
Swimming, 26th June 2017
After a weekend off (which I spent poolside coaching swimmers at a competition — just can’t get away from it), back into the water today and I just had it in my head that having done 1km front crawl non-stop … Continue reading
