Today was pretty much a carbon copy of my session two days ago, though I managed a couple more 25m reps under 19s. I’m sticking with the 85s interval for now though.
Swimming, 11th May 2021
To my relief, today’s session was much closer to last Friday’s performance than yesterday’s, with my 50m reps coming in around 44/45s with the occasional 43, and the 25m reps mostly in the low 19s and I think just the … Continue reading
Swimming, 10th May 2021
I really didn’t feel that great when I woke up this morning. I think I’d slept in an awkward position and as a result my shoulders and neck were stiff and I had a slight headache. I wasn’t therefore looking … Continue reading

It was Tattoo City, Arizona when I got in the pool today. I felt decidedly “under-inked” (ie not at all). Probably triathlon or IronMan competitors. I know what they’re like 😀 My set of 20 x 50m reps was the … Continue reading
Swimming, 6th May 2021
Despite reducing my interval time to 85 seconds on Monday, today was really my first session that I could do properly and it went ok. I completed all twenty 50m reps, though it was getting tough towards the end. I … Continue reading

I thought two of us were going to have the lane to ourselves today, but a couple of other swimmers arrived slightly late and I lost track of where I was whilst we were shuffling ourselves about. The dream continues … Continue reading
Swimming, 3rd May 2021
I don’t usually do bank holiday swimming sessions, but given the more formal arrangements for lanes etc. at the moment I thought I’d give it a go today. There were only two of us using the fast lane at the … Continue reading
Swimming, 30th April 2021
Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice… I wasn’t expecting much today having had another poor night’s sleep as well as my muscles still feeling a bit tired from yesterday. There were three other people in the lane, one of whom in … Continue reading
Swimming, 29th April 2021
It’s strange how these things go… Some days you just can’t get anywhere near where you know you can be, some others you exceed your expectations by miles. I’ve not been sleeping particularly well this week. Often I’ve been quite … Continue reading
Swimming, 27th April 2021
It was a bit of a chaotic trip to the pool today. I got halfway to the pool to find the road closed. No warnings or diversion signs or anything helpful like that beforehand 🙁 So, I had to turn … Continue reading
