Perhaps. Or maybe a mouse of some sort. Clearly they’ve been burrowing amongst my tomatoes, anyhow. I did see one the other day, digging about around the base of the cucumbers. I don’t think it was after the cucumbers themselves. I suspect it was looking for grubs or insects on the top of the compost.
