I do understand the physics involved, but thanks to the current global political situation we see plenty of photos of oil tankers and cargo ships on the news and I can’t help but think that they really shouldn’t stay upright. They so look like they should roll over 😀
I guess it’s similar to the fact that an aircraft weighing hundreds of tonnes can fly.
