I was given an appointment with one of the nurses at the surgery to have blood taken for more tests. Not entirely sure why, but I was told it was a requirement that it be done before 9am. I know they can do the tests on the same day if blood is taken later than that, so I assume they’re thinking that something about my blood may be different at that time of day. Perhaps they don’t realise that since I’ve been on medication, even waking up before 9am is a struggle.
Anyhow, I measured my BP before I went, just out of interest:

After taking my blood (I’m amazed I have any left, really), the nurse measured my BP and checked it a second time. In both cases it was well over 200. I think the first was 215. That came as something of a surprise as whilst I’m aware of “white coat syndrome”, I was actually very relaxed about the whole situation.
When I got back home, I measured it again:

So, for whatever reason it really does look like white coat syndrome 🙁
I managed an afternoon reading too, but failed on the evening one yet again. Doh!
