On 21st October I got seeds for winter salad leaves sown and under the grow light.

A tray each of mustards (Golden Streaks, Red Frills and Pizzo), Land Cress, Corn Salad and various non-hearting lettuces including Reine des Glaces, Rouge Grenobloise, Lollo Rossa and Roden. My experience is that hearting lettuces tend to rot quite easily in the polytunnel over Winter, but because I had some seed left over and as lettuce seed doesn’t keep that well, I also sowed a Cos variety called Lobjoits and a Little Gem. If they turn out to be crap, that’s just how it is.
As the temperatures here were still reaching double figures quite comfortably I also sowed some coriander and radishes to see if they’ll grow.
The grow light itself is a Spider Farmer SF-2000, set at 50% and on a timer for eighteen hours on, six hours off.
