I’m intrigued

The apparent suspect in Ann Widdicombe’s murder would appear to have managed to drive from Rochdale to just outside Newton Abbot in four and a half hours if the timings released to the public are to be believed. That’s an average of around 60mph as far as I can see.

I accept that most of the journey could be done on motorways or dual carriageways, but Birmingham is always a nightmare to get around and south of Bristol (which itself is hardly free of hold-ups) the M5 is getting a reputation for being a car park most days. There are bound to have been roadworks along the way too, because, well, motorways.

Once it’s all over I hope they’ll explain how it was done so the rest of us can do the same. Not that I actually want to go anywhere near Rochdale. From the news it appears to be a hotbed of criminality.
