“Correct” blood pressure for once
When I measured my blood pressure this morning these are the figures I got. Sadly I can’t imagine I’ll be repeating that in a hurry.
Early afternoon BP reading
Here it is. A fair drop from the morning reading though nowhere near where the professionals say it should be. And I notice that as my BP has come down, my heart rate has gone up. This doesn’t seem to … Continue reading
Are practice nurses sadists?
I do wonder sometimes 😀 Actually, the ones I’ve met at our local GP practice are excellent, but when this happens the day after blood is taken for blood test, it’s a bit alarming. And then a couple of weeks … Continue reading

Oh, and coffee…
Since I started on the BP medication, coffee doesn’t really taste that nice. Some might suggest that’s no bad thing under the circumstances, but I do (did) enjoy a cup of coffee and it’s not as though I drink gallons … Continue reading
Oh joy :(
Pre-medication blood pressure this morning. Repeated tests gave much the same figures. I’m honestly starting to believe that the current treatment isn’t actually working very well.

Another unpleasant side-effect
No idea which of the drugs I’m taking might be the cause or even if it’s the combination, but not only do I have a slightly “chalky” taste in my mouth all of the time these days, but my tongue … Continue reading
Another extended break…
Though only a few months this time, and not entirely of my own making. A few months back I had a general “check in with the doctor” type thing and my blood pressure was so high that they wanted to … Continue reading
New report on food security
The BBC reports that there’s a report published today about the decline in the “health” of the natural world having the potential to affect the UK’s national security. Here. What concerns me is the quote from DEFRA near the end … Continue reading
Yay! Cellulitis again!
Fourth time, I think. It doesn’t look anywhere near as angry in this photo as it did in real life. In case it’s unclear, that’s the back of my left calf, foot out of shot on the right, knee out … Continue reading
