I spent a few days in mid-October pressing more apples, including one batch of around quarter of a tonne that I had to split over two days. Last year that would have been easy in a single day ? Even so my body was demanding some downtime afterwards. It had to wait. There were things to be done. Watering the veggies for a start. There had still been no appreciable rain here and the major local reservoir was so low that the fish are evolving lungs.
The photo sadly doesn’t do the colour justice, but this batch of juice was such a vibrant orange when it came out of the pasteuriser. I suspect if you drink any then you might turn into “Superwurzel”, start wearing your underwear outside your smock and fight orchard-related crime wherever you find it.
