A first batch of pickled chiles

In this case, they’re Hungarian Black. I have no ripe Jalapenos yet. There was a little pickling solution left over from a previous pickling session, so I went over the plants and removed any of the chiles that were black. Whilst on the hunt I found this little mutant.

I’m pretty sure that’s a Zitava. I’ll add it to the ones I already have drying.

The small number of chiles I did get looked to be sufficient to fill a small jar so everything came together nicely. I used up most of the pickling solution and got my first jar of pickled chiles for this year.
